The Walking Dead is an American horror series, adapted by
Frank Darabont and Robert Kirkman, creator of the comic of the same name. It is
transmit from October 31, 2010 on AMC.
The series was first developed in 2009 for the NBC14 chain
before being picked up by AMC. Frank Darabont, in addition to being the
executive producer of the pilot is responsible for its writing and its
implementation.
January 20, 2010, AMC officially announced the distribution of
pilot inspired comics The Walking Dead, with Gale Anne Hurd as executive
producer in addition to Frank Darabont15. In January 2010, a review of the
pilot script has attracted more attention16.
During filming, AMC has ordered a first season of six episodes
17. Frank Darabont was executive producer on the last episodes of the first
shot season 18, 19.
August 31, 2010, Frank Darabont said that The Walking Dead
will be a second season. November 8, 2010, AMC confirmed the second season
consisting of thirteen episodes 20. Frank Darabont announced later that he
"would also include some elements of the environment that occur in Volume
2 of the book by Robert Kirkman21."
October 25, 2011 following audience records the first two
episodes of the second season, the channel has announced the renewal of the
series for a third saison 22, 23 thirteen episodes. January 15, 2012, AMC has
ordered three additional episodes in the third season, a total of sixteen episodes

December 21, 2012, the series was renewed for a fourth season
of sixteen episodes25 scheduled from October 2013. It is headed by the new
showrunner Scott Gimple, replacing Glenn Mazzara.
October 29, 2013, AMC announced the renewal of the series for
a fifth season of sixteen episodes, following the ratings success of the
previous season followed by 14.3 million.
October 7, 2014, AMC announced the renewal of the series for
a sixth season, five days before the start of the spread of fifth saison30.
