Homeland is an American series created by Howard Gordon and
Alex Gansa, based on the Israeli small screen series Prisoners of War created
by Gideon Raff.
After a confidence of one of his informants, Carrie Mathison,
a CIA agent with bipolar disorder in secret, is the only confident that
Nicholas Brody, a US Marine released during a commando operation in 2011 after
eight years detention by Al-Qaeda, has been converted and is a risk to national
security. Perseverance to follow the behavior of the Navy, which will turn to
unhealthy obsession, will cause it to determine whether the soldier trauma is
real, or if it is involved in a conspiracy against the United States.
In 2010, Howard Gordon and Alex Gansa decide to develop the
series inspired by one created by Gideon Raff and offer the chain. September
19, 2010, Showtime ordered a pilot of the series and the site as a priority
Production. Howard Gordon, Alex Gansa and Gideon Raff wrote the pilot script
and Michael Cuesta has realized. April 7, 2011, following good ratings driver,
Showtime announced the launch of the series with an order for twelve episodes.
In March 2014, Nazanin Boniadi is promoted to the main cast
for the fourth saison. In June 2014, Corey Stoll and Laila Robins joined the
casting and Suraj Sharma.
